presumed stolen by unknown aliens

the drengin are invading, aaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!

I thought they found more planets so now we have 12 on our solar system... I do know they are not counting pluto as a planet in our system... so 8 or 11?

I thought the planet-destoying "death stars" were no longer available, by order of Stardock??!!

yea there were going to add 3 more planets 2 behind pluto 1 between mars and earth i believe.

But they scrapped that idea and decided to scrap pluto too. Good ridence it was just a fat lazy astroid

yeah, in 2029 an astroid is gonna pass through earth... Colony ship? someone?

They made this oh-so-complicated definition of a planet, that is pretty stupid if you ask me. By the definition, Earth, Saturn and Jupiter would also not be planets. They are taking it under further revisement
First they wanted to make it 12, then they saw that the 3 they wanted in (Xen, Sedna and Quaoar) were no different from a few other bodies in the solar system, by definition(Ceres, Charon, Orcus, Varuna etc.), and pretty soon, we'd have a solar system of 200 planets. Making the word "Planet" worthless.
EDIT: For Stargate fans, the asteroid that just might hi Earth in 2029 is called Apophis. And it will pass on Friday the 13th.

Maybe that poster who really, really wanted to bring back terror stars knew something we don't?

And isn't it insensitive that now they're calling it a dwarf planet? Where's the dignity? Where's the love? It's little planet, damnit!

stargatre fans? I'm a Star Wars Fan, and that asteroid is not gonna carsh and below out Earth it will pass near it so you could see it from the sky... it was a joke..  not funny but it was a black one.. don't worry no one is gonna die in 2029!

It's a 300 meter piece of rock that, according to NASA, "just might hit a gravitational keyhole" and hit us.
Oh and yeah, people will most assuredly die in 2029
Oh, and it was adressed especially to Stargate fans, because the first baddie in the show is Apophis.

still didn't get ya... so you say there is no future for the kids of today? it's a shame no one can do something about it unless we research "Space Weapons" and the "Laser"...

Why laser? Why can't we use Drivers or Missiles?
No, I am saying that there is a slight change(infinitesimally small, but steal reasonably large to be considered) it might hit us.
And the point was, wether it hits us or not, people will die in 2029. I didn't say Mankind, I said people. Just as they have been doing all these past millenia.

That's unlucky...

Especially as I thought Apophis was dead, but he does have a nasty habit of coming back to life...

Master U, Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis r great, try them out...

it has cleared its orbit of other objects

I don't understand this one. Shouldn't every planet with moons violate this. Even the non moon planets have Trojan asteroids.

While were at it, lets get rid of Jupiter. It's a brown star after all.

I believe this means that a planets orbit around the sun must not be effected by any other large object in the solar system. In the case of the other 8 main planets this is true. But Pluto does not pass this defination, as its orbit around the sun is affected by its neighbour Neptune, which deflects Pluto from its normal path.

I agree with the sceintists that the solar system should only have 8 planets. Otherwise they would have had no alternative to raise the planet count to 10 or 12+ and the figure would have continued to go up as they discover more 'planets' at the furtherest reaches of our solar system.

Now that its settled at 8, it should stay at 8 forever.

better idea this is mine design build and send in a mining ship

mine the sucker into non existance and any others that might becoming this way

and just so you know according to the babalonnies(annicent iraq)((sorry about spelling)) there is one more planet that has a highly eleptical orbit something on the order of 1000 years

it is conceveable that the said planet and earth would be on oppisite sides of the sun those we wouldn't have seen it without a telescope a good one
Reply #20 Top
It is not concievable because we've sent Pioneers and Voyagers that way. No planet X. Furthermore, Nibiru was probably just the name for the North Star.
ok if you say so but the pioneers and voyagers stayed in the eleptic ie on the plane with the planets

but if we go back to the origanal definition of planet it would be wonderer as seen by the naked eye thus there are only 5 planets
