Is there anyway I can get the beta or at least a demo of it? If so, when?

There'll be a demo of it closer to the release date. Right now we're in the process of completing the game, with help from the beta testers (players on Drengin.Net) and weeding out bugs.

Actually, you can get it by getting a Drengin.net account. That's how everyone else got it that's playing it now.

You get the game as well, not just the demo. You also get Galactic Civilizations which was retailing for around $30, the Galactic Civilizations expansion, and the Corporate Machine, and anything they release for like 18 months (someone correct me if I'm wrong).

Yeah, Galactic Civilizations and its expansion Altarian Prophecy are worth the money alone, not to mention The Political Machine, The Corporate Machine, and maybe even Galactic Civilizations 2 in the future. Plus you will not find better technical support from a game company ANYWHERE....period. Its worth the money.

Personally, as a Drengin.net subscriber, I'd be rather upset to have paid for my account only here that Stardock started giving their games away.

As was mentioned, the account gets you alot more than just the PM beta.

Why can't I just pre-order the game and get in on JUST the political machine? I already have a great deal of the other stuff on Dregnin.net, or at least, what I would be willing to pay for, through retail

We had that option during the betas up until Beta 4. Now we're too close to release to add new players to just the PolMachine beta.
