What's your favorite Season?

I looked out the window today and saw the first change to fall colors. Some green leaves are turning yellow here in Michigan. I'm really a Spring person but when I read that my Grandmother's favorite season was Fall I have a new found appreciation. Camping in the fall is the best too!

How about you? What's your favorite season?

I have to say winter is mine. I love it when the heating is on in the house, "nice" and cosy indoors and freezing outside. Being able to be dressed in just a Tshirt inside, while temps outside are below 0 is great. I enjoy the roar of a fire in the fire place, sitting in the room looking out the window and seeing the cold world out there, it always makes me feel so safe and secure, I love that feeling it gives me.
my cocoon, my world. Winter definitely.

I love the snow in WInter!  But hate the cold rainy Days.  I love the color of spring!  But hate those last minute cold snaps.  I love the ability in summer to go barefoot and shorts all day long!  But hate the humidity!  I love the cool crisp mornings in the fall, and the leaves that paint a rainbow in the trees all around.  But I hate the raking of those leaves.

Tough call.  But since I was born in the fall, I pick fall.

Autumn - the leaves are beautiful, the days are still warm (compared to winter & not sweltering hot), the nights cozy cool.
The apple festival, Octoberfest, Halloween. My Husband does lawn/yard care - so he does the leaves.

This is one tuff question!

I was born in April and love the re-birth of nature and the return of birds,  the gentle warming of the earth again.

Then again the splendor of autumn with it's last fling,  giving us radiant colors, crisp air, have to love that.

Oh for the blessed peace and tranquility of winter,  the ice glistening on frozen hills of snow,  sparkling,  the crunch of hard snow,  the smell of snow!  yes it has a certain smell to it.

summer?  humprh!  hot, sticky, mesquitoes, .....swimming, fishing, boating, riding, ahhh yes summer!

SOOOO I pick ALL OF EM!  I can't anwer this!!  love em all

Great answer Trudy! I feel the same. I love Spring, even though my allergies kick in at this time. Summer, it's hot but I really enjoy it. Chalk it up to having lived in the cold weather for a long time prior to moving to this hot climate, and looking forward to warmer weather after experiencing so many months of coldness!

I love Christmas time and I love the smell and quiteness after the first snow.

Definately spring. I love the bluebonnets. Love the new growth spring green color that isn't there the rest of the year. Just writing about it makes me want to go tiptoe through the tulips and blow bubbles and catch butterflies.

Summer too hot. Winter's too cold. I do like a nice crisp fall day but we don't get the pretty changing leaves down here in Texas. Everything just gets crunchy and brown.

The post reminds me of The Game by Echo and the Bunnyman

Everybody's got their own good reason why their favorite season is their favorite season. Winter's winners and the summer son aint good for everyone, everyone, spring has sprung and autumn's well done, so well done.

Now I have to go download this song another little trip down memory lane.

I always think my favorite season is the next one. I love summer, the heat, the swimming working outside, but fall seems to come at exactly the right time. When I am tired of mowing grass, and watering flowers, and sweating.

Then fall comes full of golds and reds and the weather turns a bit nippy. But winter seems to come just in time to save me from raking one more pile of leaves and puts me in the spirit of Christmas.

Winters are usually too long after the holidays...seems like tulips should be sprouting.... Spring certainly takes its time coming, which is probably why it isn't my official favorite...you know, for making me wait.

Heh.

I love Autumn. For me it is a new year more so than January 1st. I love the colors, the togetherness of Thanksgiving, Trick or Treating in October and the crisp cool nights.

Favorite Season: Fall/Autumn

2nd) Spring.

I prefer the inbetween periods. The extremes, not so much.

3rd) Winter. I can tolerate Winter.

4th) N/A. Summer doesn't qualify. I hate Summer. Death to Summer. May Summer rot in Hell. Wait -- Summer = Hell. Yes, Summer is just Hell on vacation.

Damnable Summer....

I like both autumn and spring, but will have to agree with Buddha in giving autumn the nod. The crunch of leaves beneath your feet, the smell of wood burning in fireplaces to ward off autumn's early chill, the crooked branches of naked trees standing out boldly against the horizon...

And (SOMEONE'S gotta say it): the World Series and the return of football!

Beautiful!!!!!! LW!

perhaps death is like snowwiping out painful detailblanketing blackness with a shinethat even a moonless nightcannot obliterate.

I have a neighbor who was on death's bed about a month ago. She said that it was very peaceful and finally at 83 she's not afraid to die.

Fall. hands down. Cool nights in jeans and hooded sweatshirts. Biking on the trail hearing and smelling the cracking leaves under my tires. Apple cider! Oh by far my favorite adult beverages is hot apple cider and yukon jack with a dash of caramel. I love me som' apples...word!

Word to the topic starter fall camping is simply the best...no bugs, usually dry, perfect campfire weather.

Wow, nice LW. I must applaud that one.

My favorite seasons start from spring and go until winter in the proper order. I love spring, everything is mild and there are cute baby FUZZY! things running around. Summer is nice...except for the heat, but I still like it. Fall has a picturesque kind of feel too it, but it starts getting rather cold. Winter has it's good points, but due to global warming it's kind of a rainy mess most of the time now.

When I lived in the Midwest I love Autumn. I love the cool weather. I'm so hot blooded I wear shorts year around. Autumn breezes feel so damn good, too.

But now that I live in the Southwest I love Winter. The coldest it really gets is mid 30s and the hottest mid 50s. Perfect short wearing weather.

What's funny is I used to love winters as a kid. Sledding, building snow forts and having snowball fights. Now I hate being out in the snow. Strangely, I don't mind driving in it, and of course I hate clearing the drive and sidewalk even though I had a snowblower.
