Electronic Arts announced the seventh expansion for its epic fantasy MMORPG Dark Age of Camelot. Labyrinth of the Minotaur is currently under development at EA Mythic, formerly Mythic Entertainment, and is scheduled for release in late 2006 for the PC.
"I can't think of any better way to celebrate the 5th anniversary of Dark Age of Camelot than with the release of a new expansion for the players," said Walt Yarbrough, Producer of Dark Age of Camelot. "This exciting, story-driven content will bring new thrills to an already vibrant and thriving game world. There is no better time to be playing Camelot than right now!"
The ancient race of Minotaurs has returned to Camelot as the first new playable race in two years. With them comes their powerful relics, which have been long hidden and sealed away, but now unearthed, they have begun corrupting the Realm.
In return for their aid, the Minotaurs will share their knowledge in the arts of the Mauler and allow the warring factions to unlock this new class. Meanwhile, the Minotaurs themselves are so powerful that they will be able to wield two-handed weapons in a single hand. The tribes of the Realm will need all the power they can muster to take on the Labyrinth, "the largest single dungeon in any MMO."
