Combat Screen - Ship Movement

There is really only one request I have for the expansion - everything else in in there that I want. And this is what I want -

I'd really like for the ship combat screen to have a more cinematic look/feel. The ships look great, the effects of their firing look great - but ship movement once they close is awful looking, I lose all sense of immersion. Rather than sweeping attacks and passes, once they get up close, they just seem to sit there and flop or waddle around = I can' really describe it, but it certainly looks nothing like combat out of Star Trek or Babylon 5. They really need to make a pass, sweep around and return to attack.

I'd really appreciate if you'd take a look at this. It really takes me out of the game. Yeah, it's eye candy, but everything else in this game really looks so good for a 4X game, I'd really like for this to look better.

Thanks for listening.

I've been saying this for months! The way ships "bob" up and down like bobble-head dolls is ridiculous. The single worst part of the game for me.

I HATE the bobbing, I always end up puting to game speed to half the normal speed so I don't turn off the computer and go in another room.

Rest assured, CodeCritter is working on major improvements to the combat viewer for the expansion

that should indeed sweaten up the expansion. It would be great if instead of larger warship tumbling about, the turrets would move into position and fire/recoil independendly...

I have also toutted for this feature for as long as I remember playing GC2. Good to hear it gets some work on DA expansion.

Yea that really annying. But another thing that is annoying is that weapons can fire in ANY direction. Even if the guns are at the bottom they still fire. Doesnt matter were you put the gun it fires in all direction without any trouble

I just imagine that the weapons are able to swivel around (even though many weapons look like they can't be turned or swivelled) and fire at the enemy. I generally put the weapons at or near the front anyway.

It's easier to explain for missiles though, they just fire them and the missiles self guide from whatever angle to the target.
