Smiley function not functioning

Smiley function not functioning

Seems to be only in the "Forum" tab page

T-MAN,

Sorry, I posted this in the "forums.stardock.com" thread which I realized was incorrect after reading "AndrewBigStuff's" comments.

This thread is regarding "WinCustomize.com" forums.

For the past week, I have not been able to use the smiley button to successfully assign a smiley in comments.

I can access the list when clicking on the button, but clicking a smiley results in a slight drop of the whole page (sort of like hitting "Enter" button at the bottom of a text box) - but no smiley symbol appears.

I can assign a smiley by typing the symbols.

Running IE6 (6.0.2900.2180_xpsp_sp2) on XP Pro w/SP2 and all MS security updates.

Note - this happens only in the "Forums" page, not on the Home or Articles pages. I have not attempted to add smiley's under any other tab.

Sorry for the misunderstanding of posting in wrong thread.

This smiley is posted using the keyboard symbols:

Using ff 1.5.0.4 the animations are fine and are working as they do with IE 6.0 and 7.0,have'nt tried opera or netscape yet,the quote function is of no use so cheers ^^^starkers^^^ for how to do,i'm curious to know why in other forums the smileys and cliking on quote work there and not here.

if the animations are'nt working and apart from having multimedia enabled in IE and then you install ff and imported would any of these make a diff, unless it's just here that anim's don't work
shockwave player
macromedia flash player
java enabled
java runtime update 5.0

EDIT: Netscape and opera show animations ,i figure there must be a setting on some of your comps that's stopping them from working assuming the software side is ok,do you see animations working in IE, if so try importing IE settings to ff, if not then there is a setting that is not enabled,if on the other hand it is just this site then i have no idea what i'm talking about

i am trying out the new FF 2.0 beta 1.  on of the 'big' things in this release is the addition of 'on-line' spell checking in text boxes, like this one.  and guess what? it doesn't work in this 'add your comment' box, in the Wincustomize forums...it does work in all other forums, including the forums at Stardock..

i have also noticed that the other forums, including the Stardock ones, have my comment's box background set to my default windows background color, i.e. dark blue, whereas this comment box is white, and smileyextra doesn't work, spellcheck doesn't work here...

i guess i should just wait for the big wincustomize upgrade

p.s. the spellcheck feature in FF 2 is great
