First, I'd like to say I really like this mod, even if I don't have the most updated version yet.

Second, I'd like to say that the Andorians and Vulcans should really not be major races. The reason for that (in my opinion) is that they are part of the Federation. Bajor, while undoubtedly an important player in the DS9 era, is a minor race (correct me if wrong, please). Also, no other Federation race (such as the Tellarites) are a minor race. I can think of three races at least I'd replace them with-

Klingon-Cardassian Alliance: The Alliance of Bajor, Cardassia, and the Klingons from the Mirror Universe. That's just a possibility, though, as they'd need combined ship designs from all those three races and I don't think the ships are unique like the Terran Empire.
The next one was hard..., my first choice was the Kazon from Voyager. They were enemies for at least two seasons, and were a pretty powerful (if completely disorganized) state in that part of the Delta Quadrant. But if you argue that they are also a minor race, than my next choice is quite suprising.
United Federation of Planets (29th Century). The time-travelling, paradox-creating, insane UFP in the future. The guys who intervened in VOY twice, and got into a Temporal Cold War later in Enterprise. I don't know how you could implement Time Travel into this game, but it could be a Super Ability of some sort (Something to do with spies, or maybe... I don't know.) Just a crazy suggestion.

Hi, please forgive me if this has been asked, i did try and find reference in the thread, but 14 pages is alot to go through.

I wish to play the vanilla game but with the ships from this mod. Is this possible? And is this possible in a MV friendly way?

Just a quick note to say thanks to the mod team.
I started playing this mod last night and loved it.
It's the game i've been waiting for, from the star trek franchise since Micropose's Birth of the federation.

guys how does this mod work? I extracted it in Mods folder and i ran the game but it wont show up. what am i doing wrong?

Are we going to face the possibility that the full version of the mod is not going to be implemented until the Christmas release of the new GalCiv II addon? I have just been thinking about because of the new techtree features of the addon.

Great mod. I played the first beta release of this and that was good but this is even better. Im glad you implemented the non transferable hull types.

I had a few problems with the DA version but its amazing what following the installation instructions can do for a game that crashes .. All fine now..

hi guys, since the main forum is down i thought id post here a few issues ive found. Sorry if this is a double post.

Federation, some hulls appering early. For instance the excelsior large hull appears with the medium hulls not the large ones.

Also there seems to be a bug if entering combat within the zone of your military starbases. Causes a CTD once you click play in combat viewer. Same ships engaged outside the zone of these starbases causes no CTD.

I'm using Startrek Beta V4 for DA.

Have some issues with ships not showing up when clicking on "NEW" ships to design at the very beginnig of the game: I have to take a ship from the Templates and hit "USE" to make me a colony ship for instance. A big no no, because if I hit the wrong hull on the Templates side the game will crash. Specifically the basic ships one needs to start: Freighter design is for example not listed in the beginning ships to pick from, and it cannot be selected in templates without crashing the game (even though it is a fully researched hull design at the beginning of the game).

Even wierder: This problem only applies to selected races (namely the ones I wanted to play   ). Federation --> no ships. Romulans --> no ships. Cardassians --> no ships. But then again Klingon Empire & Mirror Earth work just fine.

Otherwise everything is peachy. Awesome Mod!

It sounds like you may of hit the "appearence" tab when you started the game. I did this a few times until I read through the install notes. Apparently its a hard coded bug that stops hulls showing up when you try to design a new ship. I think to get around it you need to delete the customracexml file created in the my docs\my games\gc2darkavatar directory. I think if your playing federation its called United Federation of Planets.customracexml. You will then need to create a new game for this to take effect.

It may be even worth reinstalling the mod as I didnt do it properly first time around and it just crashed constantly.

Is there any way to upgrade your flag ship. I've tried every ship design and it doesn't match the flag ship or at least isn't in the upgrade screen when i try.

I have the problem with ships not appearing. I don't click the appearance tab. I have deleted the customracexml file that is cretaed but regardless of the race I chose that file always gets created and I have no ships. Any ideas?

i had your problem but i did two things, first i upgraded to the newest Dark Avatar, the beta one (1.7) and the newest Galciv2 (1.50.128). then i changed my permissions in windows vista so that i can access (read/execute) all files in the galciv2 directory.

i've noticed that if any file is not readable and the game tries to access it, it will crash to desktop with no warning message, etc.

What’s going on with this mod?

The Forum has been down for sometime... And last time it was up, they were saying that the final would not be out until the 1.7 update... The 1.7 Beta is now out… I don’t know if that counts or not…

Anyhow… anyone know what’s going on?

We're still alive and kicking. Actually it's been my fault. So you can take out your frustrations on me.    I've been really busy with work. We switched web hosting and the forum is up but I need to finish the topic areas before we announce it to the public. As far as the game is concerned we'll get it done. Rest assured. We've spent too many hours working on it not to finish it. If anyone has any questions please feel free to pm me.

Actually Pyriel2005, its not Han's fault. Its my fault. I kind of disappeared for several months with out letting them know. Can't expect them to carry it all alone. I'm back around now though. I believe I'm the reason the site went away, and the forum, and Han had to create a new one.

Anyways, I'm back, not necessary working with them yet, going to talk to them about it first. Kind of screwed them. Thank god they continued on the work and did a good job.
