JoWood has become the latest company along with Ubisoft, to drop the controversial StarForce protection scheme from one of its titles. IvanErtlov, the Community Manager for JoWood.de has confirmed via a german-language forum post that Gothic III will not ship with StarForce as its protection.
Instead JoWood will use a scheme which is "more gently," with IvanErlov even commenting that he signed a petition to not use the scheme in secrecy.
