So long Larry Brown, thanks for nuthin'

Kicked to the curb from his "dream job", sorry Larry Brown, vagabond and carpet bagger extraordinaire of the NBA...

Fired after a year on the job, a disastrous one, but not entirely his fault. His replacement -- Isiah Thomas -- is probably just as much, if not far more at fault than was Larry Brown. The team was assembled by Thomas, apparently without regard to real needs, and without worry about causing cap problems well into the future.

At least from this point, Thomas will be the one that is really held accountable for the mess.

Will Brown coach anywhere else? Possibly, though I'm guessing he takes a year off to recover his health. Perhaps spending the down time as a "head" for ESPN or something similar.

BTW, I'm fairly certain Isiah Thomas is gonna really be working the phones to unload a few of those over-priced "stars" on that team, provided he can find anyone stupid enough to take them off his hands in any sort of deal that might provide some relief to the Knicks.

Not that I'm a Knicks fan myself, but if I were, today's news would just be yet another reason to think about commiting suicide in the world of NBA fan-dom. I'd have to disavow any support for the NBA, or switch my allegiances entirely to some other team.

Meanwhile, as an occassional fan of the Wizards, at least I'm getting to feel confident that the games against the Knicks next season should remain fairly winable.

sigh..... I really want to see the knicks regain at least parity with other teams. I miss seeing them in the playoffs.

I agree with Moderateman, I personally have never been a fan of the Knicks, but they were always a staple in the playoffs. I used to love them play the Bulls. Their history is so rich, I long to seem them return to a respectable ball club.
