Incompetent Clinton Int. dept cost BILLIONS in oil revenues

I'd call out a certain chest thumping anti-tax cut cheering clueless old liberal here, but it wouldn't do any good, he'd just twist the argument in some way to slam G.W. Bush and claim that the amount of money is a pittance even as he cries over the potential loss of an equal amount in tax cuts provided "to the wealthy" ("a few select friends of W.")

Regardless of what some others would say, it's unbelievable that the U.S. government is losing out on Billion$ with a B, and perhaps way more than that from shoddy work performed by the U.S. Department of the Interior under the Clinton administration.

Many would rush to say how could I blame this on Clinton, since he didn't actually run the Interior department, but my answer would be I DO IT IN EXACTLY THE SAME WAY THAT SOME PEOPLE BLAME GEORGE W. BUSH FOR ALL THAT GOES WRONG IN GOVERNMENT, THE U.S.A. AND THE WORLD.

To be fair, this isn't Bill (or even Hillary) Clinton's fault. It is entirely the fault of shoddy work done by the Interior department. Worst case (or best for some), the Clinton influence at Interior would have been in the SES level, not at the every day, work-a-day world of those that do the real work in the department. Perhaps some specific Clinton appointees were involved in negotiating these contracts and agreements, but most likely it was just a bunch of career bureaucrats that did it. People that had probably served in government for years, and thought that they were carrying out the wishes implied by the congress.

I'm sure I could get to the bottom of the story if I really cared to read it all, but it's so much more fun to just pretend facts aren't really there, and only selectively use the ones that support my blaring headline claim. That being the case, it must be Clinton's fault, even though liberals would claim that the conservatives can't drop the Clinton fixation.

Tell you all what, when the left stops blamin' Bush for everything, perhaps the right will stop mentioning Clinton, Carter and others from the left that did their own damage along the way.

By the way, I should take a few seconds and say that the Billion$ being ballied about here might go a long way towards establishing that energy research fund that Hillary Clinton had wanted to create with some sort of windfall profits tax on oil co.'s

One thing is certain.  Clinton's Administration gave more to Big Oil than Bush has.  But you wont find any liberals calling CLinton a friend of big oil (although where do you think he is getting all those millions these days?  not from poor people that is for sure).

Why admit it was your people that made the mistake?

Though I'll admit I'm disappointed that Mr. I'm freaking about the deficit spending and we have to tax every penny out of the rich that we can has ignored this story completely. It's not like this topic would ever even merit an article of his own on the subject.
