GalCiv2... on earth?

translating the GC2 concepts down to the planetary/continental level

I wonder how would it be to have a game that carries over every element of GC2 into a land-based scope?

i.e. instead of playing over the outer space, we play on land, on/under the sea, and on air?

especially intriguing is the ship construction concept... research component techs, and design your own vehicles to traverse over different terrains... corr!

does anybody know any game out there that already have this "vehicle construction" feature? am really interested to check em out.

I too have been pondering about such a game. It would indeed be brilliant, especially if it spanned the entire breadth of human history. Start out researching better clubs for your infantry and eventually move up to muskets and assault rifles. It would have to include a better combat system though, so you could outflank, lay an artillery barrage and use terrain to your advantage.

That is all.

It's called Civilization--and while it certainly doesn't have the components system, Civ IV is definitely moddable enough for someone to make one.

One word (actually 4 words): SMAC (Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri)

Alpha Centauri pwnz and r0x0rs!
I did just so love making bankrupting designs that simply wiped even the 2 alien races in the expansion out...

I also have an awesome idea, we can take an object that is round...say that shape of a cylinder, and take the shape and make something that rolls. We could use them to transport goods...or even make something I like to call an "Automobile".

I'm working on something I like to call "Fire" also...
