Rebellion has finalized another take-over deal, adding Core Design to its list of developers. The firm, hot off the purchase of Strangelite Studios, confirmed a deal between themselves and SCi Entertainment that sees Rebellion receiving the staff and physical assets of the Tomb Raider creators.
During the transition the staff will continue to work with SCi on a new title, but under a different name, which has yet to be disclosed. The Core Design name and intellectual properties of the developer will remain with Eidos and financial terms were not disclosed.
Rebellion CEO Jason Kingsley stated, "With next-gen development upon us now, and publisher requirements changing, this studio's deep and experienced talent allows us to continue to compete at a global level... Together with our business plan for 2006, it's our goal to develop Rebellion further."
