2 out of 3 from those Damned Yankees, as a die-hard Nationals fan, there's very little that might be considered sweeter than that.

(Unfortunately due to the recent streak in the wrong direction the chances of really getting back into the playoff hunt aren't that good, but beating the boys in pin-stripes is pretty freakin' awesome!)

Nope. I have decided I will not take my son to a baseball game until I can do so in the friendly confines of SafeCo Field. He WILL grow up with an unflinching loyalty to the M's, which means one thing to M's fans:

The Yankees suck.

Sure, I root for one of their five starters to do well. But in my ideal world, they'd win 20% of their games, and that would be it.

Yeah, they really kicked ass in the 2001 WS, eh? (hehehehe!). And I DO have to give the Yankees SOME credit. I'm still laughing about Jay Buhner for Kenny Phelps, almost 20 years after the fact!

Sorry, Mod. This is gonna hafta be one of those "agree to disagree" things. One can be successful and still suck, though!

Nope!  Like Gid says, I love my Mets (especially this year) just the way they are.  I dont want them to be the yankees!  Comeon!  I am a southern boy after all!

MM, I don't hate the Yankee fans (well, at least not most of them including MM), just the Yankees themselves.

Though I've been known to have great respect for Roger Maris (as an example) and a few other Yankees along the way, I'm just not a fan of "dynasty" teams. I much prefer seeing new blood as champions every now and again.
