The publisher of the highly controversial Grand Theft Auto series has decided to sidestep what was sure to be another lawsuit or protest by canceling their latest project, Snow. Take-Two's unusual real-time strategy title saw the player begin as a marijuana smuggler with aspirations of becoming a ruthless drug kingpin. The ambitious and sure to be controversial title was quietly canceled this week with no exact reason given.
2K Games, one of Take Two's publishing divisions, has confirmed the title's cancellation to CNN/Money but declined to comment on why. Speculation points to the dissolving of game's developer, FrogCity Software, whom along with PopTop Software, have been folded into Firaxis. It could be that the rest of the development team at Firaxis didn't enjoy the title's background, or maybe it just wasn't fun.
