Some movies make you better just for watchin...

Many folks might consider the Mouse House evil, and I have to say they aren't quite the company of my youth from the time of Walt and the weekly visits with him on the Wonderful World of Disney, but they do occassionally put out some excellent films. Not the Pixar stuff (which is darned good, at least they haven't put out a bad flick as a pair yet), not the Lion King stuff, or the other animated titles that followed, but films like, actually exactly like The Rookie, Miracle and one of their latest films to be released on DVD: Glory Road.
I know that Disney, and their subsidiaries and affiliated companies, take liberties with the stories they tell (normally to make the story more entertaining for the viewer) but for the most part the meat of the story comes through.

If you haven't seen the films I listed here, I'd highly recommend at least renting them, if not outright buying them. They are worth the few $$ you'd be spending.

Didn't want to forget to say (at least in the case of Glory Road) to watch the bonus materials. There are several deleted scenes that I wish had been included, including one of Haskins and Rupp together that does a good job of softening Rupp's somewhat controversial image. Those scenes are well worth watching, though it would have been nice to see them "in place" to know for sure where they were supposed to fall chronologically.

Inspirational movies is a great topic. Guys always go for the sports movies. I did love Field of Dreams and Rudy. I like girly inspirational movies Pollyanna and Anne of Green Gables. Shawshank Redemption and Forrest Gump both were inspirational in their own way. Oh the one about the kids building the rocket - It might have been October Sky or something like that. That was a good one.

Oh and hey we can't forget Bring it On (that's a joke btw) - bring it!

Can I say that I thought Miracle was ruined by playing Dream On at the end? Maybe it's just me but if they had picked a different song it would have changed the whole movie.
