In another example of his firm grasp om politics and the laws of the Commonwealth he is supposed to govern, Ted Matthews "It was all just a faykade" (AKA Tim Kaine) stated that Virginia does not need an official language bill since:

"It's been the official language since 1607," he told a caller on the WRVA "Ask the Governor" radio show.

The problem is Virginia passed just such a bill in 1996.  Isn't it so nice to have a governor so clueless? Maybe he can pass a law outlawing murder next!

Such state laws have already been overturned by the courts, anyway. New Mexico did it in 1988 if I recall, and the courts stopped it.

I dont care if the law passes muster or not.  But the governor should know what laws are on the books.  Well, all but this governor I guess.
