Can't connect to the Metaverse...

Hey there, just wondering if anyone else is having problems connecting to the metaverse. Haven't been able to get on for a couple of days now. I upgraded to the new beta but that didn't make a difference. Also the GalCiv website has been running slowly for me while other sites are fine. Any ideas?
