Constant rejections of my wallpapers does little for self confidence or my want to create anything

Constant rejections of my wallpapers does little for self confidence or my want to create anything

I feel art for wallpapers is rated on the personal likes & dislikes of the moderators

http://www.renderosity.com/gallery.ez?ByArtist=Yes&Artist=cadmar
I sent 4 wallpapers in yesterday just to have them all declined. There was no reason in the guidelines, I had other people use them as wallpaper before I uploaded them. I posted them to various websites and received very posative comments on them. They seem to frown on anything created digitally. They used the word default to me one time when describing digital art. They replied to me at one time before telling me digital art was simply art added by default. Nothing I create is by default.
When I create something most of the time it is from the ground up. In World Machine I have to create the landscapes and I will only get what I put into it. I have to create the mountains, and everything else that is part of the terrain using nodes to achieve what I want. Sace as a ter file to import into terragen. I have to create atm or tgw for atmosphere, sky & effects. I do not just pop in any sky or atmosphere. I have to create surface textures and with these textures create a srf file to apply to the landscape to give it the grass, rock, snow, and so on.(A lot of the texture & effects I can create in PSP. After creating all of this I have to decide which pov I wish to use, where I want the sun & at what level. I then have to render it, which can take hours. Especially when I make it 1280x1024. I then Usually import the terragen image I created into poser 6.
There I add things to the image I could not create in the terragen or world machine program to give it more interest, things like air balloon ships, animals or trees.
I create a lot of the things I add to the image using a program called Hexagon2 & Shadew 7le. I then render again to add these items into the image & give it a 3d effect. I then finish off in psp touching things up here & there.
IT may be digital but it not default. I will never again send anything to this site, the moderstors seem to base their decision on want their personal like is. What one person may not appreciate another one would. IT is very individual & personal. For example I am not attracted to abstract art. That does not make abstract art bad, it simply means I personally do not have an interest in it. The moderators should not be deciding what wallpaper art you would like, it should be up to those who are viewing it in the wallpaper section. The downloads will speak for themselves. Sadly you will have newer people creating art & have it turned down could turn them right off to creating anything. It could effect your self confidence. The email they send you back is very blanketed. (Thank you for submitting...it does not meet the requirements....) The link I added shows some of the things I have created. Some I would not submit as it could be a little to busy. Some of it would be very nice. The 4 I spoke of are not in here but will be eventually.

Thanks for reading this

Let's NOT post falsified emails which may be misconstrued as legitimate.

Sorry for the first one, but the second one was not falsified. And I'm kinda surprised to see either one removed. I think folks know the difference and that it is all in fun. No rude language or images, nothing xrated, nothing explicitely suggestive or very provocative, just some light humor.
Sorry if I caused any confusion.

It's more about staying on topic really...which from around #18 onwards was decidedly not.

The impression 'might' have been given that rejections of submitted works were treated in a cavalier approach which is not the case.  The 6000+ emails on record are at pains to treat people sensibly and fairly, so the 'humour' may have been a little ill-considered....

Rarely do threads stay on topic..so I have a hard time with that reasoning, or half the threads in here would be censored to pieces.

And, when you consider some of the material posted in the threads and in comments and in screenshots...any impression some light humor would or could have made pales in comparison to the more explicit or edgier things (in prose, imagery, or links) posted around the site.

To be quite honest, without being personal (which is how my humor 'might' have been taken), I'm more than surprised and rather beside myself in how I should feel about this.

I also realize that what's done is done, and will not be undone.

So, with a great deal of reluctance, I'm letting it drop.

Sorry, to anyone I offended.

I didn't moderate your wallpapers but if I had seen them, I would have rejected them all based on what's on that page.

It has nothing to do with the "Art" but rather how good of a wallpaper are they.  WinCustomize is a skin site, it includes wallpapers but they have to be really good - as wallpapers - to make it up. Most of them ones you have on that page are far too busy to qualify as good wallpapers IMO.

Nearly all of them look like Bryce with some 3D model pasted on top of the Bryce render.

I looked at all your walls at the link and while they are 100 times better than I could do at the moment...I'd just suggest you try to make a wall a little less " one dimensional " A few years ago your type of wall would be exactly what I would of used on my desktop. But after seeing some very professional works at WC and other sites im a bit spoiled.

Shadows, perspective , etc are what give a wall a " real " look. Do not consider this means your walls are no good...just upload them at other sites and you'll be surprized how many will appreciate them.

I wish i could remember where the post was that Pictoratus wrote about whats " in " and " not in " at the time. What he wrote was right on the mark. Not every rejection means " bad quality " of work....it just sometimes means at this point in time its not the " flavor " of the month.

Word of advice?

DeviantArt = Walls, photos, 3D, art, photomanips, resources, models, real art, anything visual...also an alternative for most if not all programs that accept skins.

WinCustomize: All Stardock skinning programs and a few others...as for walls only the ones made for public, not personal use. Feed the crowd, not yourself.

Since i realized that recently i've found:
A. Inner peace.
B. Permanent occupation answering to comments (constuctive or not).
C. Many friends in many sites.
D. Self confidense, appreciation and respect.
E. Less bugs in my head.

Thank you all for your opinions, I appreciate them very much. Just one point on the site link to my stuff at renderosity. What was there was really simply art, not walls. I think I submitted 2 of them for walls & I did not submit any busy ones. Anyway thank you all again. Master Apprentice, sorry to see your humourous, very obviously self created email removed. It did lighten a stressful topic. I for one found it extremely beneficial and again I thank you for it.

Again thanks everyone for your points of view. It would be nice if this topic could be closed now.

thank you all
