When I first purchased the GalCil II, I only had my laptop while I am one the road on business, and now I uninstalled the GalCivII from the laptop cause it's to slow. Now I installed it on my normal computer, and downloaded all the updates, and was ready to play, now it say the Serial number or the machine SID dont match, what the hell is going on???

I think it means Serial ID

actually I think I see the issue, since you had already used the CD code for the other computer, but shouldn't uninstalling reset it?

You can install GC2 on as many machines as you like. I have it on 2 and I have never had a problem.

For those that don't use SDC, I have no clue.

If you installed from an SDC archive of your previous installation, then you just need to delete the sig.bin file in your galciv2 directory, then run GC2 and input your email and serial to activate it for that machine.

I had that error when I installed the game with a Stardock Central account that used a different e-mail address than I used to buy the game. Have Stardock change your Stardock Central e-mail to match that of the one you used to buy the game, and you might be alright. (This worked for me.)

And to think I always thought SID was Space Intruder Detector from the old UFO TV show...

Remove the sig.bin from the directory on the other machine and reactivate it. If you are using Stardock Central, you can right-click on the component and select the Activate w/logging option. If not, it'll prompt for activation. Enter the email address and serial you've previously used with it.

The activation is liberal, within reason. A sig.bin from one OS install will not work on another. But, you can install and activate on a reasonable number of machines during a given period before it gets upset.

Posting your serial to a web forum so dozens of people can try and glom onto it will make it upset.
