Ctrl-N and Scoring

Does Ctrl-N affect your end score in a Metaverse game?

If not, why not? I think you should play the hand you are dealt and go forward from there. I know that Stardock can see if Ctrl-N was used, so I would like to see that taken into account for your score. You should have a lower score if you restart the game again and again to get the perfect starting position.

Thoughts?

I think someone said in another post that hitting Ctrl-N does affect your score.

I'm pretty sure if you hit Ctrl-N during a metaverse game, the new map doesn't count towards metaverse. I read it on one of the stickies. It may have been a bug, so it may be different now.

Hi!
You should have a lower score if you restart the game again and again to get the perfect starting position.

I usually restart (CTRL-N) my game when there's an unbalanced distribution of players. That also includes my race. How can I brag about wining a game, when I start with double the planets others have?

well you could quit all the way out of the game and restart each time and it wouldnt know you did that, and it takes you out through all the set up steps now, at least it does for me, so id guess that its the same as starting completely over every time

Does Cntl-N even count your score in the Metaverse? I thought my very first game I did that, but it never counted on the Metaverse.

Pressing CTL-N does'nt prevent you from submitting your scores.. so long as you've selected the game as a metaverse game when you start it..

pressing CTL-N isn't cheating.. all it does is ..
ends the current game
takes you back to the log in stage and then starts a completly new game..

just like selecting quit from the main menu and then the way you started your game.. eg: if you started a meta game thats where it'll take tyyou back to.. (loging into the meta )unless you have rthe check for internetconnection disabled) in which case when you end your meta game it'll ask you to log into the meta.. just the same as it does if you load a game that was started in the meta type of game..

I do believe that there should be a visable flafg on the saved games so that one can easily tell when loading a save game wether or not they started the game as a meta game or what ...
