Trolling: It's posts with no purpose or meaning, just insults at people in a vain cry for attention.

Marcathonas, good thing you added the bit about insults, because we're both guilty of going off subject.

But not for detriment or attention, that's the key thing. Just change a few words and it isn't hypocrisy

Thanks for the help. And what about the bonus rating on a post? Other than identifying a post as annoying, insulting, etc., what value does it add to the forum? I'm not really clear on that.

Does it help one to identify value-added posts quickly, or does a poster get some forum-type award for accumulating good ratings, or help build "karma" points for one's afterlife ?

Thanks.
Remember, I'll use my karma to run over your dogma.

It's just to reap some good Karma, and when you die you can cash it in and get reborn as something cool. Like a Drengin. Or a butterfly. Or whatever floats your boat. <_<

Honestly, I have no idea what the bonus rating is for... My best guess would be that is helps the forum mods see who are idiots and who are respected members of the community.

I think it's meant to add a + or - to your forum score in metaverse. Mine is One thousand three hundred and something, but I haven't made that many posts (close though ), and have been given some bonus points somewhere.

Update:

When I try to give a bonus rating using the IE browser 6.0.x, I get a popup with this message:

An Error Occurred
There was a problem opening this page. Please refresh the page and try again.
Whatever you were trying to do, it didn't work out the way you expected.
You could always return to the Home Page.

Using FF 1.5.0.3, I get taken to a GalCiv II page with no content. I then have to navigate back to the original page, but I'm pretty sure the vote did not get recorded.

Anyone else having problems with this. It's an interesting feature, but way too much of a pain in the butt to use.

Stardock: Please fix it or just remove it altogether.

Thanks.
