Ward Churchill, Fired?

Four out of five regents investigating Ward Churchill's behavior and his past works have decided that Mr. Churchill besides being an anti-American MAGGOT, has plagiarized several of his "written works" and falsified other documents.

They have recommended his dismissal. yay!

Of course this piece of anti-American garbage, most renowned for his "little eichmanns " remarks after the horror of September 11th, gloating, happy about all the death of his fellow Americans, is screaming, "i will sue" if they fire me.

Funny how those that will trample all over America and her greatness are the first to scream " I HAVE RIGHTS!" while denying others the same rights.

Ward Churchill is a pig and a perfect example of the lunatic far left that has no regard for anyone but themselves. http://www.google.com/url?q=http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,195728,00.html&e=9796&sa=X&oi=news&ct=result&cd=1 http://slate.msn.com/id/2113358/

While I would not advocate 2 different scenaraios for 2 people who plagarized (Kavvya being the other), it seems that in this case his plagarism is clearly related to his job.

Throw the bum out!  We already know he lied about his heritage.  He is probably descended from Eichmann!

It makes sense. They've waited until the public eye has moved on to other things. It would have brought a lot of scrutiny on them if they had done it when he was a headline. Now he's yesterday's news and no one will care except the people who are delighted at his downfall.

they are being smart about it, questioning his "credtials" instead of just dumping the lout!

His media exposure made CU rethink his employment. Then they did some looking and found that he'd been a bad boy. Nice work, CU!

Oh, no, Moderateman. This is the first time he's ever been busted for plagiarism. He should be given a free pass!

Heh, he wasn't grounded for plagiarism, he was grounded for forum spamming and repeatedly bumping said spam to monopolize the 'recent articles' and 'recent forum activities' list.

If people got grounded for plagiarism here, I know of at least one 'top' blogger who'd drop from view pretty damned quick.

No, that wasn't my point, LW. MM was among those demanding that Kaavya just made a mistake and should get a free pass for her plagiarism. Why should we hold a different standard for Ward Churchill just because we hate his sorry ass?

At lease Dr. Guy was quick enough to catch the irony in calling for Churchill's head.

Sorry, MM, but I do believe that if we are going to punich plagiarism, we need to punish ALL of it, or else it becomes pointless.

there is a big difference between a 19 year old child and a professor that forged documents to become a tenured professor.

no I did not! I never said anything about a free pas, what I said was "she should not be destroyed" but should pay for her mistakes.

Right. The way to PREVENT one from becoming the other is to force them to understand the wrongness of their actions early on.

Repaying money she didn't earn isn't a "payment" for her mistakes, it is a natural consequence. I detailed the portion of Harvard policy that fits her situation, and they have more than enough authority to expel her. She certainly has a right to attend college, but attending a SPECIFIC college is a PRIVILEGE, especially one with the standards of Harvard.

we are talking the same thing gid, she should pay, but at 19 she should not be driven into a wall at 100 miles an hour.

ward Churchill on the other hand, lied about him being native American, used plagiarized articles to get his position, gloated over the death of 3000 Americans, there is no comparison between the two.

High praise!  Thank you.  But he has a pattern of dishonesty stretching beyond the plagarism.  That is their excuse, but probably not the catalyst.
