parties in Spain

Hi, I'm spanish and I'm 16 years old. Excuse me if I commit some mistakes.
In USA, you have only two parties in the parliament, I believe (democrats and republicans). But I don't know what is the political system in America. In Spain, we have three important parties:
Partido Socialista Obrero Español "PSOE" (José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero, the new president of Spain) : Sorry, I don't know how american people says the conservative's opposite. Here, conservative is called "right" , and the opposite is called "left". The PSOE is "left" but not much ).
Partido Popular "PP"(conservative): Mariano Rajoy. Before him, José María Aznar.
Izquierda Unida "IU" (communists, socialists, republicans): Gaspar LLamazares.
And in the parliament there are about 10 regional parties: Three catalan parties (in the north east of Spain), three basque parties (in the north of Spain), and more...
