Forum annoyance

I read the forums every day that I can, one of the things I find annoying though is the fact that I have to make a choice (yes this is a minor thing, so minor one may call it petty, insignificant, minute, small...) either I can clock the back button on the browser which will then not show what I have read in the little cutsey note area or I can click the forum button which takes me back to the first page of the GC2 forum, even though I maybe reading on the 3rd page.

Any help with this one or am I just wanting to much?
