kenwebb is it possible to convert your ships into a new ship style? Use your ships as hulls?

I think it is possible. I do know you can switch the AI ship style, the Galciv2 modding Guide may help with this.

Usually, when I create a new hull now, I save it without any equipment on it so the base hull will show up as soon as I get the hull tech. Then I can tack on the engines and equipment as I see fit.

All design you see here on my post are just hulls, no equipment. The design just look like they have equipment on them. This is from Omega Mods 1.0. What I did was copy the components and hull files and re-named them as jewelry files so they would be add to the extras menu in ship design.

Well... i experimented and the only way it could be converted into useable hulls would be to get a x-file and a png file. I dont have either.

Ken, I'm baffled. I have your 1.0 mod but can't seem to get your BSG ships to work right. They show up either not at all or only partially. /cry

If you are using 1.2 you need to move the Omega Mod files to ether the new mod Directorie locked in Galciv2 main directorie and then in the game option select the mod or to the main Models files ( C:\Program Files\Stardock\TotalGaming\GalCiv2\Gfx\Models ) make any copys of files you replace but there should be none

I installed the Omega Mod 1.0 into the Mod directory, and pointed the mode file path in the game options to the path you listed, but didn't work. I think I either didn't get your instructions correctly or I did something wrong. Can you direct which file goes where more specifically? Thanks!!!!

Put all Omega Mod 1.0 files into the main Directorie (C:\Program Files\Stardock\Total Gaming\GalCiv2\Gfx\Models) The main Models folder were all the hulls, jewelry,componets,ect are stord. if it is still not runing right the Mod or the ship files my-be corrupted. Are all the ship pack not working are just the BSG?

Started a new project (race conversion) with a BSG theme. Still working and names and description. The conversion will also include maps and scenarios and AI ship configure files

I agree, I hope that your still around ken. I'd love to see that conversion project of your finished. To see all your ship designs in one mod would make for a sweet game. Especially seeing the computer playing all of those designs against me, scary stuff

Sorry for the delay, I have been putting some heavy hours at work and did not have much time to work on the conversion. I have redid the tech tree, GC2Types, and add new PlanetImprovements (Planetary Weapons, Defenses, New Research, Espionage building and so-on) I will have a few screen-shots up soon. The conversion probably not be ready for some time. I have been mod almost every file I can. As for designing new ship I am holding off until Dark Avatar, when I can use the new hulls and jewelry. Also any help or Ideas with making the conversion is welcome, I am just an average gamer with no real programming skills just doing what I can on my free time. So any one, who would like to help just let me know on this post.

Sounds like the conversion mod is gonna be a lot more to it than what I thought it was. I basically thought it was just a way to have the ai use all your ship designs in the game through the 1.2 mod feature instead of changing configuration files.
Sounds like your making a pretty complicated and involved total conversion. Can't wait to see it

Oh btw ken, what is the color theme your using for your hull and trim on your ships. It looks like a custom purple and silver that you made yourself. Can you post a screenshot of the exact color scale arrangement to get your trim and your hull colors?

If you plug in the same numbers in your RaceConfig File, it should give you the same color theme
