Came across an essay titled
How to be a Programmer: A Short, Comprehensive, and Personal Summary
by Robert L Read, this essay puts the lifecycle of a programmer in different levels, Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced, giving tips on what is required at these stages.
Overall, a good read.
