Screwy scoring

Needs help with scoring

Some feedback would be GREATLY appreciated since I have yet to have anyone, player or dev, to give me some form of feedback.

Ok, just finished a game, 52500 pts., the third game from top was 127610... What I don't get is how that was determined.

The game I just finished was completed 5 years sooner, had about 8 times greater population, held the lead much longer, finished with significantly higher stats and the galaxy size and difficutly were the same, yet this one has less than half the score.

Am I missing something? Is it because the population display is bugged? (i.e. It's off by a factor of 1000. Should display 3.123456 t, and not 0.0003123456 t) Is that affecting the score? This last game also had marked one of my builders as my most powerful ship, which is unarmed (Using Beta 4B), yet I had another ship with an attack of ~1400 and a defense of ~30 sitting a few sectors away, for some reason it didn't flag one of my fleets which it usually does instead.

Lastly, As I built more and more ships to try and crank my military rating before finishing the game, my ranking wasn't going anywhere. I had a ranking of 297, then once I finished off the last race, it said I had a ranking of 197. What gives?

Are you playing the latest beta? They changed the scoring in it to try to curtail some of the cheese scores that were bumped up by number of turns. If you look through the patch notes or some of Draginol's posts you should find an explanation of what changed.

Good, now if they'd just clear out all the old scores so that everyone is on a level palying field, the metaverse might actually be close to respectable as a comparison of player skill.

They will do something even better. All the old scores get recalculated based on the new system from patch 1.1. So nothing gets lost and nobody gets an unfair advantage.

Sounds good to me, now if only someone would be so kind as te remove that cheater flagged game, if just the tag can't be removed that is, I REALLY dislike having that thing on my record just from having -1 race points left over.

Also, how does one get their medals displayed in their posts?

You have to turn on a nearly invisable option in your profile, highlight the whole screen and you should seen an option to turn on. I had to ask the same quesiton myself.

Sheesh! You weren't kidding about a nearly invisible option! It doesn't even appear to be an option since it looked black to me, I was almost afraid to click on it...
