How do I improve my score

I still dont see how I can get a decent score on the metaverse. Even if I play on gigantic suicidal; I only get like 11000 to 30000 on a game. I play with rare stars. occasional planets, occasional habitable( My computer told me to )
Would it help to get a smaller galaxy, but with 3*abundant?
I dont like to have a gameplay of more than 15 to 20 years at max
Anyone who have seen the light?

I see you're on the beta which knocks your score back quite a bit.

Galaxy size has nothing to do with score, other than to allow for more stars and planets. The same number & quality of planets on a medium sized map should produce about the same score as on gigantic.

If you are playing the current version then its simple, and I proved it so well that they deleted my score.

I wont spoil it for you, but find a way to hit end turn repeatedly, as the main determiner for score is how long you play.

And galaxy size and number of planets does matter, as the length of time is multiplied by how large your civilization is.

I posted a score of 4.68 million, so I know what I am speaking of.

For my dedication and hard work in exposing thier extremely flawed scoring system, I had my score deleted and all my medals taken away.

For the naysayers:

theres the proof i am not lying.

Now, its ok that they treated me like a punk, because you will soon be playing an updated version of the metaverse which will fix the huge gaping problems that I highlighted with that score, and I take the credit for making them fix it. Despite many forum topics about the flaws in the scoring system, they never once mentioned fixing it until I took the number 2 EMPIRE score with one game played, so while I will remain bitter for being treated like a punk instead of given thanks, I still feel good about the change I brought about.

If I am not mistaken the fixes will go live when 1.1 goes live.

hey trespasser, even though you did exploit the game, if it made the devs fix the scoring system then gudn'ya mate.

The more planets you have the better score you will likely have. The society portion of the score is mainly based on planetary improvements, and population, so that part can get really big if you have a lot of planets.

Yes, your overal economy helps your score... the larger your economy, the better.

Damn so thats why I keep getting low scores. I'll have to remember to keep hitting turn turn turn when I've all but beaten the enemy.

Thanks Trespasser.

I'm still trying to figure out why anyone would care about their Metaverse score.

I am still trying to figure out why folks who really do not care about stuff are the first to say stuff about stuff. Feel like a Thanksgiving Turkey yet?

No, I'm really trying to figure it out.
That's why I said it, whereas you're just being a jerk.

Is there a benefit to the Metaverse scoring that I have overlooked, other than the obvious bragging rights?

None, other than the bragging rights. Well "cool" looking bling under your posts maybe.

Sure,

All my games have been metaverse games. Outside of the campaign they always will be.

I like to track my progress. I am slowly trying out all the races, with increasing difficulty and various galaxy settings. I'm not in an empire, but the medals & rank are nice to see.

However at some point I think it becomes less meaningfull. Many of the top empires & players seem to rarely lose. Are they protecting their records? I think the system should penalize restarts and force reporting at endgame. I really think the competitive empire builders are going exploit the system for those 'bragging' rights.

I have never lost. My score doesn't say that I never lost because I didn't send in game scores where I didn't lose, I just have never lost. I should increase the difficulty level, but I really don't like the idea of playing against an opponent that has inherent advantages that I need to make up in some way, so I usually play against intellegent opponents, but occasionally I play "painfull" games as well.

Its all about the bling.

Just remember these scoring rules will soon be changed, and are already changed in beta apparently.

I lost my bling so that would happen.

Umm, you click the button in the characters thing (at metaverse.galciv2.com) to make your character the default one. Ignore the fact that it looks "greyed out"; that just means that you havn't clicked it yet.

Lol AW Trespasser, that's golden. Glad you got them to fix it though (that's like an uber medal, only now one can see it). Maybe you can make that score your avatar picture
