mouse gestures

not sure if this is the right place to ask this, but is there any way to install something like mouse gestures for firefox, but for the computer in general? for example, dragging right click down would close the current window

https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/extensions/ is the best place to look for Firefox extensions. You probably want to havea look at this one: https://addons.mozilla.org/addon.php?id=39

oh. sorry! I completely missed that bit. I have heard about software that does that, yes. Can't remember the names though. I'd belive you'd find something at download.com.

A search for gestures gave quite a few results: http://www.download.com/3120-20_4-0.html?tg=dl-20&tag=srch&qt=gestures
However, I haven't tried any of them and can't recommend anything.

great thread...i had always wondered about this, but didn't think it existed, as if it did, everyone would using it (especially firefox/opera users)...

thanks for the link thomassen...i've now been playing with StrokeIt (Link) for a while, and wow, it works! very small memory footprint, comes with built in gestures and you can configure it however you want, including adding gestures or programs...it's really wonderful to add gestures to progs like Windows Explorer, so i can now navigate back and forth thru my folders, just like i'm navigating in firefox...it also has pre-configured gestures for programs like photoshop, so you can use a gesture to select a tool..very cool

i found that, by default, it over-rides firefox gestures, so check the 'only enable StrokeIT in configured applications' in edit/preferences...

this, i can see, will and has changed the way in which i interface with windows
