That this site is becoming more and more difficult to access (without busy server errors) and when one does get in, the page draws can be so slow as to make you feel you are watching rocks grow. Seems to be the case ever since the new servers and upgrades, and site policy changes. Are all resources going to the gaming?

I thought we just got new servers a few weeks ago when it was front page news about the new speed. I guess I totally misunderstood all that!

I copy what I type on the forum just in case it goes into space, that way I can just paste my message, and try again,


I do that when I upload anything also... it never goes through the first time..usually takes many, many times and sometimes what I wrote has vanished!!!

So - the site has been brutally slow lately, and all we get for an explanation is a wink? And does subscriber mean OD subscriber, or are we being locked out of the site too?

My point as well Davebo. I am like a lot of folks here that re upped subscriptions well into the future to support the site and since then things have gotten to the point of painful frustration. Things happen and I have sat through this for weeks now waiting for someone to say we are fixing this or fixing that and bear with us. But I have heard nothing, not even an acknowledgement that a problem exists. As for upgrading just for subscribers that would defeat the pupose as what person trying the site and experincing these outages and slow page draws would then sign up for a subscription?

We are working on things to make everything run smoothly for you.  We have had lots of hiccups in the last little while with new servers and mass site hits with new games and other problems.  As well as you don't like the down times, and the posts not going through; we don't either. 

I hope you understand there are sometimes problems that happen in upgrading, but it is all to get things working better and faster for you.  We certainly aren't trying to make you suffer here, and do listen to what you have to say.

[sigh] We're with you SD and WC, just frustrating at times...I have to remember what it was like in 2002 and B4. Thanks for working so hard on this. I can only imagine just the hardware side of it, let alone the software. How many million hits a day?!

Well I must of missed the " hyperdrive " 'cause im seeing big 2 inch wide blue lines between each post because the page never even fully loaded. This widget I uploaded the day before has disappeared from my skin list. So I give up.

I haven't had any problems. Though, I've moved in the past couple weeks so who knows. Beforehand everything was working flawless.

Today I tried out SD Central and downloaded in the masses as usual.. Didn't have any hikkups or anything like that?

I say you all give the team a break.. And stop getting up on Jafo. He volunteers his time here to help keep the community up, he has nothing to do with the servers or Stardock.

In case you missed it, Jafo is no longer a volunteer but an employee. (A well deserved promotion is my book). I do not think anyone was getting on anyone. Just tryinmg to get some answers to a difficult issue.
