Global Warming is Real

There is plenty concern out there unfortunately converting to clean burning fuel cost money...and that seems more important to The Global US Keepers then the logevity of our planet. KYOTO can still be implemented in the US, we can slow down the inevitable if measures are taken demanding a reduction in dangerous emissions. America is the criminal in this respect.

Very concerned and learning more about it all the time.

global warming is real...sweet. especially when winters are all cold and stuff. down with KYOTO, up with emissions. i hear they're coming out with a horror movie starring emissions, it's gonna be hella scary. you wouldn't think it, but even i, the earth, would rather see you humans employed and nourished than worry about slight changes in temp. i'm a tough planet, i can take it.

Very interesting recent scientific report on the melting of the Greenland glaciers. They now estimate that only a 2.5 degree rise in temperature will makes themelting irreversable and that by 3000 there will be no glacier left, raising sea levels by 7 meters. I think the basic problem is a 'not in my lifetime' philosophy. Same philosophy we have with national debt. No need for me to change, my kids can worry about it.

Global warming is real. Even if we could do something about it, I doubt if we will. SUV's, the big gas guzzlers are the only vehicle that makes a large profit for the auto industry. So unless gasoline gets prohibitively expensive, I'm sure they will continue to sell. The other question is, even if we did do something, would it make a difference. Since there is no solid proof, the U.S. continues to ignore the problem.

Honestly, I'm not convinced yet. The Earth varies in temperature throughout its existence, so a changing temperature doesn't necessarily mean it's global warming. I think it's another example of arrogant humans thinking that they have complete control of the Earth. What's next? Claiming that the moon disappears from the sky every month because of toxic radiation from pollution?

Unfortunately, yes. The man in charge of the US Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works, Chairman James Inhofe (R-OK) has been quoted as saying "global warming is the biggest hoax ever perpetrated on the American people."

Doesn't leave much hope for timely action, eh?
