"Show pre-release versions" the default in Stardock Central?

Dubbya tee eff, mate?

Maybe I'm new to this whole "digital delievery" concept of software distribution, but why did my Stardock Central software come with "Show pre-release versions" enabled by default?

I appear to be running 1.10 beta 2, though it wasn't my intention to do so when I bought the game, since I read that it had problems (on the forum, anyway).

Is this supposed to mean that the builds available are, uh, what they call it, "production ready" or "release ready" or whatever?

a beta software is a software that is currently undergoing testing

though beta software is often not very buggy when compared to alpha
it is still more subject to bugs, crashes, glitches, and new stuff currently in testing...

beta testers, (that is people who use beta software) are expected to give detailed reports on the bugs, crashes, glitches, new features that are currently undergoing testing according to the change log

if you don't want to participate in that kind of stuff, I suggest to revert back to release versions
