Game keeps crashing

Since the beta patches were released all of my games have ended in a crash. Usually it takes 30min - 1 hour before it crashes, but I've yet to complete a game because of this. My hardware is more than enough to run this game...any idea what could be causing this and how I can fix it?

Revert from the beta back to the 1.0X patch. If you want to keep running the beta release, expect crashes, but post your debug.err info as well as an explanation of what happened at the time.

How do you revert? I just installed the game earlier today, and it installed 1.10[b2].010. And every time I load this saved game, it crashes (It's an autosave). I tried loading the previous autosave, but it crashes when it reaches the same point as the other one. (It's after a council meeting is called, the question is shown, then CRASH BANG)

I tried disabling sound and music in case that was the problem, but it didn't stop it from crashing.

Oh great. Now the "Previous AutoSave" insta-crashes on load too.

P.S. The map type was "Destiny," in case that might be the problem.

Could you email me your saved game? It's in your \my documents\my games\galciv2\autosav.sav

email to [email protected] with a little note saying "crashes right when

Launch stardock central, right click on 'GalCiv2' entry and choose 'restore archive'. If you haven't archived manually, I THINK stardock central automatically makes an archive before you apply a patch, so you can revert to that version this way.

If there is no previously archived version, then you'll have to uninstall the game and download it again. I did this myself , having deleted the archived 1.0X to arghh..save space.

Don't forget to turn off "show pre-release versions"
Hmm, now that show pre-release versions is off, I can see 1.0X.010 in the available list. Maybe the "update" button will install 1.0X over 1.1 beta 2.

(Well it does start downloading stuff when I click update, but I'm going to archive it before doing this, in case it breaks it)

I crash all the time also.

I read in a post to update your mainboard stuff and the CPU if you are useing a AMD duel core x64 fx.

I did this yesterday and i am still crashing.

I haven't updated the video cards drivers yet but that wil be next unless someone has a better idea of what to do.

Oh....i run winXP x64.
