Along with the spending and taxation sliders I'd like the option to lock-in an approval rating. So, say you lock in an approval rating of 75% or 100% the tax rate will automatically adjust the tax rate turn to turn to maintain that approval rate. I really hate having to go and micro-manage the tax slider to make sure I haven't slipped below the pop growth rate bonus levels or even under-tax so I am way over the target rate without the extra revenue....

I think they should just get rid of the spending slider, it's pretty redundant (did I spell that right?). That would give the player more direct control over how much they spent on what.

No, they shouldn't get rid of the spending slider. I like deficit spending.

I would like yet another option added in galaxy setup. The option to prevent the AI to surrender before it has really lost all it's planets.

The problem isn't so much surrender, but how it decides who it surrenders to.
Here's what I think the priority list should be.

a) A race with a non-opposite alignment, that is at war with the race you are at war with- if they are at war with the race you are at war with, AND the alignment of the race you are at war with is different. (So goodies can surrender to a neutral race, but not if they're being conquered by another goodie race, if that race is at war with the race conquering them)

b) a formal ally.

c) The race they are at war with- that is doing the most damage to them

A goodie shouldn't surrender to an evil, or vice versa- unless they are allied, or that oppositely aligned race has made resistance impossible. AI should be less likely to surrender to a race of different alignment.

Zaren13, to go with your AutoTax slider, I would like to see an AutoSpend slider. That way I could set the thing ONE TIME to keep my spending out of the negative or to keep a set amount going to the treasury, instead of going to this screen to micromanage it every single turn.

I think that both Auto options should go dim when you adjust the original tax and spend sliders (to show that you have overridden the Auto settings) and light up when you go back to AutoAdjust.

These two features would probably save me at least an hour of micromanagement per galaxy size each game!
