Medals in Sig

Hey guys, browsing around the forums, i see that some people have their metaverse medals displayed in their sigs. can someone tell me how to get mine showing there too?

Go to 'my account' at top of page and create a character if you have not already done so. Beside the character in the same location is a faint box that says 'default'. Click this and your medals will appear in your posts.

I've done this and they still don't show up for me. I'm logged in, set my character to default, and am using both IE and Opera. Once in a blue moon they pop up for me but thats it.
