MY BLOOD

Dark thoughts.

My blood is a cesspool filled with death...

My blood cannot save a life but will gladly kill you...

If I bleed, stay away from me, do not help, you risk death
long drawn-out painfull death.

Sometimes I watch me bleed, my blood looks so red, vibrant, alive, yet under the color lurks death.

If you prick me do I not bleed? yes tiny little droplets of liquid poison, not fit for an animal.

Isn't it ironic that the stuff that normally gives life can also kill you?

I said once before that if they ever decide a liver transplant will cure (or significantly prolong) your life...and I meant it when I said that you can have half of mine, Elie. If you were to call tomorrow and say that you needed it I'd be on the plane as soon as I could get my underwear and makeup in my bag (a true lady never travels without a pair of clean knickers and her make-up, y'know).

I'm sorry beyond words. Don't mistake that for pity, because it's not - it's empathy; it's one human being reaching out to another and saying "I understand and feel your pain".

You know where I'm at if you need me.

Love, D.

As bad as your blood may be MM, you are still pumping it and beating it and MAKING it give you life.

Don't give up....stay strong my gentle giant!

I am O-.  The universal donor.  You can have my blood for a transfusion.  After 150 pints, I am sure there is some there for you.

would be nice doc if it would do anything, the new blood would be polluted in very short order, around 72 hours.

But I appreciatae the kind offer.

Ok, I'm curious - why is it that a liver transplant won't work? Is it because the HepC in your blood would infect the new liver?

I'm amazed that modern medicine hasn't found a way to cure this yet.....

Elie I'm just seeing this blog. I'm sorry. If I could I would give you some of mine too. It's supposed to be good, AB+, but I know it probably wouldn't match yours. Although I could trade it for you to get what you need, it's been done before.

HUGS Elie, a big bear one just for you.

since the HEP c virus is target specific, in this case the liver, any transplant would be doomed to failure.

I too am amazed there is no other treatment except interferon. bah!
