Restarting Missions in Campaign

Does this make the difficulty go down as you do this repeatedly? I had issues w/seige until I took some advice from people on the forums and beat it last night. I went to go on to the next mission and noticed my difficulty was set to 'cakewalk'. Tell me I didn't finally beat that stupid Seige mission because the difficulty went down. I put i back to normal for the next mission, but I'm hoping I didn't get 'cheated' on the previous mission. *edit to put it in the right place*

I think that mission defaults to cakewalk, because I certainly didnt turn Siege down to that level and I only took two goes to beat it.

Missions where the Dread Lords are the only player default to cakewalk.  Each mission has its own default difficulty and it won't automatically change it.

Hmmmm. By 'the only player' I'm assuming you mean 'the only player whomping you around'? Well, that still doesn't work. I've got the Drengin and Yor that are 'unaligned' in that mission and I have to beat up on them along with the Dread Lords. Now my CURRENT mission (the one after seige, I think. I'm so confused) where I have 3 allies and the Dread Lords are the only baddies then you could say 'the only player'.
