Two Very Important Questions

I have two questions.

1. Is it possible to increase the maximum amount of planets in a Solar System?
2. Is it possible to increase the Class of the Homeworld (I.E. Earth)?

PS: Are there any mods which have done both?

(So much for two questions)

Well, I have 3 things to say about your 2 questions.

1) I remember reading about this from a StarDockian and I believe that this is a no for now.
2) Yes you can.... I have read about it many times but as I have never bothered to edit stuff like that myself, I couldnt tell you how to do it - it would be a case of modifying some xml, that's all I know.

I'm not sure about the campaign, but if you research the planetary improvement techs like soil enhancement, habitat improvement and terraforming then you should be able to increase the class of a planet.

Yes, it has been done already, I saw it on the internet and downloaded it but never bothered to use it (search google gal civ 2 trainers). There is also a tutorial on how to do it yourself in the mod section. I hope this helps.

I can answer #2 a bit better. Yes you can. First, backup your data folder if you haven't already. You'll next want to modify a file called customplanets.xml. BTW, this is detailed on the wiki. Anyways open that up with a text editor and change the numbers .. Luckily Terrans/Earth is at the top look for a line like " " (without the quotes) change the number to something suits your fancy like say 26. Save and exit. Load game and play as the Terrans.

Yep you can do the same for mars if you want.. and Jupiter..

kk if thats not clear enough check the wiki/mod guide.

Or if you're very evil, you can set all your planets around the sun to be 72, the max number of tiles. Then you don't even have to colonize! You can sit there with your 5 super planets and dominate the entire galaxy.

Thanks for the posts,
it was quite easy modding PQ, all you have to do is open CUstom Planets XML under Data/English, and then right there it says Planet Quality and you change it to your liking...

Now I'll try to look for increasing the amount of planets per solar system...

And one more thing I would like to change...(if it's true)
Get rid of that Stupid government penalty. Why the hell would you get -20 diplomacy when the pacifists take over or why does technology go stagnant when the Intelluctuels take over is beyond me.
