Need help. All colonies went to near zero military/shields/research in 1 turn

I conquered the Yor's and suddenly I noticed all my colonies went to 0 or close to 0 on military, research and social production. I still have the same amount of population, spending, %social and everything. What happened? All the production queue's say "never". I dont notice any enemy ships orbiting my planets (perhaps that issue is unique to MOO2)

Why did this happen? What do I do?

At a guess, check your spending.

If your current balance (lower left on main screen) is green, you should be good. If its yellow, you are losing money. And if its red, you are in trouble.

So check if you are into the negative fuinds in a bad way (-500 or more), I think that is when it goes red. If so, the game automatically stops all production until your debt is paid off.

Sorry, you aren't allowed to deficit spend like you have an infinite imaginary reserve.

Are you more than 500BC in debt?

Did you happen to rush buy a major purchase to conquer Yor? If so, that may have left you more than 500 bc in debt, as the previous poster mentioned. Being over 500 bc in debt forces all tax revenue to go to your creditors, otherwise, what's the point of balancing your budget!

I have this problem as well.

To get rid of the problem, I usually build a factory on the planet, and then buy it immediately.
It sets me back something like 2000-3000bc but at least I get a positive response from the planet.

I'm actually hoping that this is a Bug from invading certain planets

I had a similar problem in one of my games- recently the Drath (an ally) surrendered to me when the Yor were taking them out- so I gained approx 25 new planets to set up- about half of them were developed, many of them had only 1 or 2 improvements, but they all had between 5-15 million population (the drath apparently like farms) and yet, these planets, most of them with starbases and farms and at least 1 factory of some sort, all had 0 , 0 , 0 for production values for the first 4 or 5 weeks, then began building up to normal production values. Is this an intentional part of the game as the new worlds "adjust" their economies for the new galactic empire? or is it a bug? None of the planets are yet very good producers of anything and its annoying to suddenly be handed a time/money sink as i have to scramble to upgrade and build defenses for almost 30 worlds in 1 turn.
