The vocalists name is Toni Burdey. She and I worked together organizing the Latin lyrics in the intro movie and beginning solo music piece. Toni also sang on the intro movie choir and helped direct the choir as well!

The Wirehaird - so what exactly were the latin lyrics saying?

I like the vocal stuff - gives a nice classic star trek vibe to the experience.

I hope you don't mean latin american... they've had little to nil contribution to the grander scemes of space and science contributions in the last century.... no offence... just tellin it like it is!

Latin as a language itself would be kinda cool though I spose.

Are you guys quoted in the credits? I went through them originally and didn't see musical credits. Maybe I missed them.

Anyway, nice intro song. Thanks.

The human chorus is cool, I always loved those kind of intros - they had it in Halo and Deus Ex as well. Although the latter two were human choirs than the opera style.

The music is VERY reminicient of the music in "Rome - Total War." In that game, it was intended to have a very latin (as in Pre-north-american-western-civ) flavor.

Here is a very rough translation of the end choir lyrics for the intro movie. We took various Latin phrases and matched them to the existing melodies for the song. We took many liberties with the language because the phrases needed to be "singable." The same technique was used for the solo vocal piece at the beginning of the game. I'll see if I still have the lyrics for that song and post them soon.

A hunger that leads to crime and war...forever
From effect to cause, woe to the vanquished by force of arms
The final argument...your death
Love of country guides me...for glory
Come what may...know thyself...always ready...for truth...

Somebody go push that onto the Wiki site!

Aythanaeus, you'll probably have to sing that bit yourself and put it up as a mod.

Yep those are my feelings exactly (see several of my posts) so much so that I replaced the in game music with RTW's.

Now I have a problem (of sorts). You see I just want to sit and watch the planets spin while listening to Divinitus (campaign 3 song). As a result I'm not working on my modification projects -aagagahagahaa!! The humanity of it all!!

@The Wirehaired - Please give the singer my thanks for a job well done and the same to you. The quality and amount of music is wonderful for this title. On that note, I was wondering if you folks would/are/have/had consider(ed) doing a full vocal Latin score as a replacement soundtrack option and selling it online for say $10 USD. If So I would be your first customer as I simply love that type of music.
