Help with Ship Building

I'm a complete newbie to this game and haven't played Gal 1 either so please excuse these rather embarrasing questions!

Can I bulid more than 1 ship at a time from the same planet?

Can I research more than 1 tech at the same time if I occupy more than 1 planet?

Afraid not. Although the more planets you have, the faster you can get new techs, since your Research score increases with each new lab built...

you probably knew this, but just in case....

-- You can only build one ship at a time per planet.

-- I do not think you can "queue" up ships to be built on the planet....(like you can social projects)

-- However, you can build many ships simultaneously by building one per planet......(as long as each planet has a ship yard)

Different question - how do I get the decorative elements to "stick.? I double click and they appear on the model, but there i no PLACE button available and they come loose when I try to do anything else (like add other components).
