Collector's Edition Help!

I'll admit, I'm primary interested in GC2 for two reasons.

1) I'm a big MOO fan.

2) The ship customization looks awesome.

So when I heard about the Collector's Edition offering some extra ship parts, I was curious. What parts are these? Can anyone show me some pictures, tell me about them? I've also found that most of the websites I've checked have GC2 on backorder. Is there anyway I can use Stardock to download the Collector's Edition?

So I'm asking you:

What parts does the Collector's Edition grant?

Where can I order it? (direct download, preferably)

I picked up my Collectors Edition in-store (in my case, Walmart). There are likely still some boxed Collectors Editions at various outlets (Including Bestbuy, EBGames, Circuit City, etc), although they probably won't show it on their websites because it's a limited run.

As for the extras, I can at least say that you get extra cosmetic bits to further customize your ships. By my count, there are 14 extras labeled as "collectors edition." There are other thnigs as well, but I'm not as well-versed in the GalCiv universe as others so I'll wait for them to better answer that question.

Star Dragon pretty much hit it. Just a few cosmetic parts to add to ships, and a new Windows skin for your operating system.

You get the CE if you order the download right here from stardock. If you order the optional CD, they will send you the collectible edition box, CD and a printed tech tree. You will also get a temp serial number so you can download and play right away until the CD shows up.

Wallmart only carries the CE if you are looking for a store.

Yeah, I never planned on getting CE, but it's all that wally-world had so I bought it. There are a few interesting extra's so far as the Shipyard is concerned..14 sounds about right, but nothing too spectacular. And the printed tech-tree is nice, but not necessary.

Would it be possible for someone to compose a list (with screenshots) of the CE extras? You have to realize that that'll be my only motivation for getting the CE. Like I said, shipbuilding is one of the reasons I'm getting the game in the first place.

If I don't feel like I'm missing out on any especially cool parts, I'll probably just direct download the basic package. (I didn't see a CE direct download option on the Stardock website.)

Unfortunately, I don't even know how to post pictures here. The parts are nice, but none of them are needed nor do they enhance the actual gameplay - just the enjoyment of the game for some people. I will say this much which is purely opinion:

If since you started this post you haven't had the urge to rush out to a local store to pick up the Collectors Edition (which costs the same as the standard fare and oddly enough is cheaper than the direct download by $5) because you want to make amazing ships and think the tech tree would be great fun to pour over, then I'll go out on a limb and say that the difference may just not be important enough for you to bother.

If it was me, I'd be at the store. I hope that's helpful.

I got the game at GameStop and didn't see anything about the CE on the box, though my understanding was that everything that shipped early was the CE?

I was able to dl the CE enabler thingy though and run it, but I don't have a CE-code anywhere? Is that an issue or do I not have CE or what?

I don't think Gamestop got many CE boxes, if any. The CE box is a shiny, silver box.

Believe me, the extra pieces look very much like the other pieces. They are nice to have, but if you didn't have them you wouldn't miss the.

If you order from Stardock, you get the CE version. It's the only version they sell.

So are you telling me that by buying CG2 from Stardock, I automatically get the Collector's Edition? For $45? Can I direct download it?
