Morale tied to Taxes

Preventing the exploit

I've been reading how some people are just farming planets to gain merely the tax income, barely worrying about the level of morale the people have. Thus exploiting the economy of the game. Let's face it slaves do not produce as much to a civilization as a well balanced well organized unit. We're talking about the future here and slavery should be something that is long past, but, of course if someone wants to be a tyrant in the game, just make them not get paid dearly for it.

My suggestion is that Taxes and Morale be tied together. At 50% morale you only get 50% of the tax income, that'll fix those exploiters.

If Taxes and morale are already tied together then nevermind. heh

Well, low morale is very very bad. It makes your planets easier to conquer with Information Warfare, it makes your government choices slim to none, and there's always a chance your planets will revolt and become a minor civilization.

Trust me, it's not that big of an exploit.

It's not an exploit, anyhow. Taxes ARE tied to morale. So is population, so a 1% approval planet of 60 billion citizens at 60% tax will likely revolt. Also, they'll all vote (except that mysterious 1 guy in a hundred who always likes you...) against you, so advanced governments are completely out of the question.

Yes, they already are.
