Cannot activate product--Invalid registration

I downloaded the latest update (1.0X - 03/06/06) and now when I try to start the game I'm prompted to enter my serial number in the Stardock Product Activation box but when I do so but I get an invalid registration message. What's the problem? I bought the game from an EB retail store, an I've been playing it since before the update. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi there... I was getting that same error too and realized that it was trying to access an account that I had set up years ago when I registered the FIRST GalCiv. I had to remember the old email address and things went through find after that.

I assume that you've set up an account on the site in order to be able to download the patch - the verification module is checking against the email and serial that you registered with originally. Hopefully you have no typos in the original info that are keeping you from validating the new version of the game.

But either way, if you keep having trouble, try sending an email to the salesfolk at Stardock - they squared me away on another issue very quickly.

It was a database issue on our end that affected Blue Girl.  In afct, BG - send me your address at brad at stardock.com and I'll get you a T-shirt.  You helped us a great deal last night.

I also had them update the download version of 1.0X (the stand alone donwnload) to not have that activation check.

That's great, Frogboy, but now its going to take me *another* three hours to download an update, and *this* time I can't play while I wait. *sigh*
Don't get me wrong, I love the game and all, but some things are so much more frustrating when you have a download speed that settles into like 2.97 kb/sec.

I now have THREE CE serial numbers....all of them invalid when I try to use themj.

I do seem to be registered. Someone at Stardock must have organised it, and the game works fine.
Not tried the metaverse yet althought I have my character registered. Again, it was done for me.
My serial numbers were again rejected.
