I guess noting ever really goes out of style

Okay,

Lately, I have been wondering if after Vista comes out, whether or not the market for XP styles is going to fade. Well after seeing this, I am no longer worried about that. I guess some things never really go out of style...

This guy has akinned Windows 3.1, that's right, 3.1 folks. I know, you are saying, "So!?", "Who cares about Windows 3.1 anymore?" Well, that's not really the point, although it is the point of the link. The point I am making is that it seems there is a market for all sorts of mods. Seems kind of quaint.

You thoughts are appreciated.

Quite interesting that some is taking the time to create not only the look but feel of XP into 3.1 territory.
I remembering using an add-on for 3.1 that did quite a bit to make the interface more useful and alter parts of it. I forget its name, but no one had thought of making an XP look then as it didn't exist of course.

If you look a bit more closely you'll see that Calmira has been around for quite a while....

I've used it for years myself...

Tycos: the link in the article isn't to a poor Win3.1 skin on XP. It's Win3.1 skinned to look like XP.

This is cool though. My father got a laptop with Win3.1. ...hmm... or perhaps my brother does. I'll see if I can get hold of it when I get home.

Sorry, but how is this skinning?

Calmira is a shell replacement, admittedly with an XP look, not a skinning program.
