What do you mean by "the high score"?

I concur, what exactly do you mean?

Scenerio 1:

I have a very uptight spouse, she basically gets her fur in a uproar and her dander up if I spend more than a few hours on the weekend on the computer and not grooming her or paying attention to her honey do list. Therefore, even when I am playing a MetaVerse (MV) game I save it under a unique name... ie: 06MAR06... (yes lots of thought went into that one ) Once I can log back on, I open the MV and enter a game using the exact same criteria I had saved earlier (abilities, techs, race, etc etc...) than after its started I load the saved game and continue on.

Now I do not know if this is necessary, but with the idiosyncracies in the MV I have found a way to save and go on and because is works, baby, I am sticking to it.

Scenerio 2: You have finished a great game and saved the end game to the MV, however you want to play it again and I presume post the score again, because you would have played it a bit differently this time? Well, although I do not believe this should be a valid score the second time. You can possibly follow the same rule I outlined above except start from the beginning saved game, you know the one that the folks always save right after they believe that the use of cntrl-n has got them into a great starting position. However, I do not know if each game gets a unqiue ID that prohibits the use of that specific game again after posting the score.

Anywho,
If you could go into more indepth about your request I am betting someone with alot more brains than I could explain exactly what you would need to know and do.

I have the same question, I think. How do you submit your scores to the Metaverse? GC1 seemed to be more conducive to this. I am near the end of a very long game, and I would like to submit the score when I finish. (I was an idiot and played a gigantic map with abundant everything, so I have like 200 planets and I only own about 15% of the galaxy. I am close to a technological victory though, so I should win...)

Follow the advice f rom Scenerio 1 above Martimus. You may get lucky. However, be advised that the Metaverse (MV) has its own unique database and archive folder. If you have muckety mucked around with modding and are using modified game information in your current game once you try to save it there will be an error given to you... something like a Code 7 or similar if I remember right.

IE: Start MV, start game with same circumstances and setup as your game you mentioned, once the new game is loaded, go back and load your game. If its a valid game it may work, if not... well you can always start a new one. In the future always go into MV prior to a game, you do not have to post the score while playing in there, it just helps in case you want to.

Good hunting. 'Till we meet that is!

Citizen Suralle : I like your post: You made me
My question was the same than Citizen Martimus

Thanks for the tip Suralle. I will try that out when I get a chance.

Easy, when you load Galciv, click the tab that says metaverse, log in the metaverse and then from that screen on the lower right hand corner hit play, the game will start and will place a marker for the file, just in case you cannot finish the game and have to disconnect from the internet, so later on you can reload the game and finish it, do not begin a game as sandbox or will not submit to the Metaverse. by sandbox I mean start the game don't connect to MV and start playing, this type of game will not submit. YOU MUST CONNECT TO MV FIRST!!!!

The lack of documentation is really the problem. Oh well, I will still get satisfaction out of beating the game, but I would like to get some credit for it as well. I don't understand why you can't just submit the game to the metaverse when it is over, without loggin on first. (I usually disconnect the computer from the internet when playing the game, so that Missy can use the internet. I don't have a switch or router or anything, so this is the way I can play and have her use the computer at the same time.)

Beacuse the game is transmited over the internet, how can you send the game if you are not connected?

Wait a second here, are you guys saying that if I load a saved game started in the Metaverse, without first logging back into the metaverse, that game won't be accepted?

If that's the case, I'm about to become a very unhappy customer.

No, as long as you used the Metaverse option to start the game, you'll be able to post it when you finish.

Umm. Not to be a total jack ass... It is on page 7 of the manual. Not very clear as to saying you HAVE to start a Meta game by ckicking on the Meta tab but...

You will be fine. No worries. It will work for you.

Hold the phone. I've saved, gone to bed and played the loaded save game again, won and posted the score.

The FIRST time you play you need to start a metaverse game. If you already did that and saved, you can hit "Load Game".

You'll be prompted again for account info so you can post your score.

Whew, had me worried there for a sec, couldn't believe that would be the case.

Thanks for the quick replies guys, was just about to continue a metaverse game started yesterday, and really wanted to be sure first. I had hoped to be able to start and finish over the weekend, but Saturday just wouldn't cooperate with my plans.

Now, back to my Yor-less universe.
