How do I "upload" to this "Metaverse"???

afaik you need to log on to the metaverse before you even start your game.
ive just finished mine and it seems you cant post it on the metaverse for security reasons.
would have been cool had i been told *EARLIER* bout this ...

Clicked "Metaverse" button.

Logged on, selected character, etc.

Played game.

Won game.

Now I have this "EndGameSave.sav" file.

What do I do with it?

Well if you won game there'd be a popup window that says would you like to post your game to the metaverse? Yes or No..

I have the same problem here. Running under Win XP Pro, game from Stardock Central. I also can log on to the metaverse with no problems directly from the website.

Hmm, that message didn't post with my nickname, but this one did. I wonder if the problems are related?

BTW, everything is smooth since the latest patch. My empire, The Fighting Hellfish, is ranked...60!

I have an equal problem...
Im logging in from the game in metaverse, play, maybe win and then there is no popup anymore to send the data to metaverse. It worked the first time but now...nada...

By the way....are there any postings about the metavers rules? Page 7 in the manual isnt very helpful CTB 123. Am i allowed to save the game and play it on later? Did i have to log on into metaverse again before i load a saved metaverse game? did it still work after loading?
To win a large or huge map without saving is a real problem...it takes too much time. Is there any controlling if you loaded just to prevent beeing killed or if you just moved on with the game?
None of these questions became answered in the manual so how about it?

Yes, you can save a game and resume it later. No, you don't have to log into the Metaverse before resuming a saved game. All 5 games I've submitted were not completed in a single session, and I never had a problem with it before.

I haven't done one with the latest patch, though, so there might have been something broken in 1.0x.1

I do indeed apologize to Citizen Morbutor and anyone else if you had in fact read the manual. My point was that the manual says you do have to log into the Meteverse before begining a Meteverse game, and I thought you were complaining no one told you. I'm sorry if I misunderstood the issue.

I hope the new updates have helped everyone out that was having technical issues.

Yes, I agree the manual could be better, but there were a flurry of posts shortly after release with everything from questions to bug reports that could have at least been helped by reading the manual. I even tried to reference the relevant pages so folks can go look and see what it says.

it didnt give me the option to upload.... can i upload my endgame save anywhere ? i want some symbols by my name

Btw in my manual page 7 has info on the dread lords, page 6 has a small paragraph about teh metaverse that basicly tells you nothing

I agree. The manual is no help.

I have worked out that you need to go online. On the Metaverse to set up a game.
As I understand it, you can then play the game offline, saving and reloading as much as you like.

I assume that when the game finishes, there is some option to upload to the Metaverse?

Mine just down right crashes.

I did a small galaxy game against 1 race and i won a cultural victory without firing a shot i might add and i got a mere 7k in points and when the 'do you want to upload this score to metaverse?' it crashed there....i have been doing some modding, but i think metaverse has its own folder, which i haven't touched, i might reinstall GalCiv 2 tomorrow and see if it makes a difference.

I too have a game I started as an MV game and it wont submit. I'm a bit lost as to what could have caused it but more irritated at the fact that it took over a week to win it!
Any help would be appreciated.

Yep, I also played a big map for a week on challenging after setting the game up on Metaverse. Finally won the game with the highest score I have ever made and I did not get to post it.

Not a big deal since I am never going to be a top player anyway but it certainly does not encourage the use of the system.

I have the same problem, I just finished a game and was not given the option of posting the game.
