how to cancel ship building

Maybe stupid question, but ho do you stop a ship from being built?

Yep. Simply ensure that your list isn't filtered (e.g. Your Style), and scroll all the way to the top. There's an option to build nothing and it will ensure you're not constantly pumping out scouts or something.

I think he's talking about purchasing a ship (ie, getting it next turn), as opposed to having your shipyard build one? I've had that problem before--accidentally bought something for a couple hundred BC when I really didn't want to.
