Can't Destroy Capital buildings and trade goods?????

How do you destroy buildings like Manufacturing Capital? When I select it, all the options to destroy it are gone. The same is true of trade good buildings. This is particularly troublesome on captured planets, especially since it seems like you don't get the trade good anyway. So its a double whammy -> you don't get the trade good and you can't use the space.


Hopefully I am mistaken about this

Super projects, trade goods and galactic achievements are all indestructible.  However, the benefits of super projects (such as the Manufacturing Capital) are transferred to the new owner.  Trade goods and galactic achievements, however, don't transfer their benefits to the new owner; I believe this is an oversight in the design.

Hehe, who wouldn't want 2 manufacturing capitols? If you want nothing on the planet, use the tidal disruptors in your invasion. It'll clean it out pretty well.

Can the AI be prevented to some extent, I know there are times when it would be impossible, to avoid building super projects, etc. on special tiles. I have a current game where I captured a planet from the torians and they built a tech capital over a food square I would like to use but I can't now. From what I have seen on the forums none of these type projects will benefit from a special tile.

Unless it is via a scorched earth type policy to lock up the tiles to make them unuseable to the invading player
