WTF ECONOMIES DESTROYED

im pretty sure ive found a bug, and its pissing me off. Before I loaded a saved game, i saw i had about +26bc a turn. I did a quick save, tried something out, and then loaded it again. I then look and i was loosing 35 bc a turn.
-I don't know whats causing this, but depending on how long this accidental depression lasts, im probly never going to play this game again, becuase lets face it. Im going to have to load at some point.

yep, it has to be a bug. I saved and loaded again without changing anything, or hitting the turn botton. now im at -55 bc a turn, and alls i did was save-load, save-load

Everytime you load a game your spending bars economy, military and research reset themselves, you may want to check those bars and adjust them so you don't looose money.

... that doesn't make any sence. Whats the point of saving if its just goin to remove stuff

Let me know if this helps?

It doesnot removes anything, the game automatic resets the spending bars, that is the only thing that resets.

So how am i supposed to know what to set it back to. I know i didn't thange anything, it should have been on default. with about 33% in everything, but im still loosing tones of money. I've also tried ajusting the slider over and over again, but im still going in the red....

-also now that ive loaded it when i compare myself to other races, i have zero in everything (AKA their bar if full, mine is empty)

I think he had a valid point in the issue that, "why does it reset?" I tend to play on and off again. Saves are important and if I have to reset my spending everytime.... Its just another step when it should be saved by the game itself.

Perhaps its not a bug but it does seem to be something that might bug some people.

Uhm i understand. but i must say. WHY? if your saving a game. you want to come back to the game EXACTLY the way you left it right? Im sure im not the only one who thinks this. no point in reseting the bars. you should fix this. i dont wanna write down where my bars were left at everytime i restart the game. cmon now. that makes no sense.

I have a suspicion that my difficulty level has also been reset. that would explain my now huge defficit because i would no longer be getting the bonuses to economy for playing on begginer (my first game).

Yes, it that happens, it would appear to be a bug. I'm sure it'll be fixed at some point.

I D/L'd the game as i left for work, told them I was sick and left early and now am just getting home to play.....

AGREED...

if you re saving a game you or at least, I want to come back to it EXACTLY the way I left it... whats the point of saving if you have to redo anyhting???

and as for your economy issue... i bet you are probably finishing up building something and its sucking your economy away... thers something in the game thats changing thats for sure... what it is...

hellifiknow

peace im getting back to playing now...

In this game you are a politican so your going to run into those "management" issues they always reset...(at least in congress )

OK. I've talked to the guys here. It is working as designed. However, the design is likely to be changed at a later date. For now, I suggest you check your economy when reloading.

I just saved, exited the game, ran the game again and reloaded. I had 52BC income per turn in the original and saved game. I also reloaded an Autosave and had no problem. My sliders were untouched. I'm guessing this is not a universal bug. It seems to be happening to some people (if I go by the previous posts) but not everyone.

Is anybody else having this problem?

Guys, let's keep some perspective here.

The game doesn't currently save the spend-rate, it resets it to its default between saved games. It's a 2 second thing.

It was this way during the beta. It was this way in GalCiv I.

I agree with you that this is something that should be saved but no one previously noticed (or cared).  But to say "You have to redo everything" between games is a bit hyperbole don't you think?

The original thinking behind it was to force people who came back to their game to look at their economic situation and make adjustments.  If people don't like this behavior, it's an easy thing for us to change to save that setting.

certainly an annoying oversight on stardock's part, but chill out. they'll probably patch this in no time.

So any ideas as to why im still in the red. some mentioned building stuff and i think im building a prodution capital. could that be it.
-if that is the case, then the game is reordering the build order of social projects

sry to seem angry before, but i was a little flustered

Just be glad you are playing, some of us are trapped at work and would trade a great deal to be home and have a chance to save at least once

PROBLEM SOLVED

i figued out when you lock the values, they are not reset, so no update required

Sometimes economies takes a bad turn due to have too many expenses such as a military fleet, many buildings, etc, sometimes the AI is doing sabotage, so it is good to develop trade routes earlier in the game, trade your early techs with minor races for cash, they love the galactic wonders, so that can help you to stay out of the red.

Also researching the right techs can help, build economic capital, build buildings that help your economy to go up.
